Postponement of North Island Industry Professional Development Day due to Covid

It is with regret we have to inform a further postponement of the NZ Wool Classers Association North Island Industry Professional Development Day in Napier, like so many things, a victim of Covid.

Our Napier event was set down for March 16 2022. It was originally to have been held on August 20 2021 but was postponed three days prior due to the community outbreak of the Delta variant of Covid-19 and the subsequent Level 4 lockdown. At the time it was deferred until October 2021, however it soon became clear this timing was not going to work either because of Covid restrictions, so the new date of March 16 2022 was set.

With that date nearing and as part of our planning NZWCA has been in discussion with PGG Wrightson, the company which had generously offered the Napier wool store meeting room as base venue for the event. PGGW has protocols in place across all company sites to protect staff, customers and visitors. They have advised the introduction of a large group of people to the Napier wool store could risk compromising the Covid measures. Therefore the event is on hold until the Covid situation is more stable, and it can be planned with more certainty. We thank PGGW for ongoing support.

NB: NZWCA will be applying the same scrutiny and consideration to our AGM and Industry PD Day planned for Mosgiel on May 5 2022 nearer the time.
