Registrations Open for AGM & Industry Day 2026


NZ Woolclassers Association invites you to our 2026 AGM and Industry Professional Development Day. The programme for the day is designed for our members but will be a day of upskilling and connecting for all involved in the wool and wool harvesting industry. All are welcome.


  • Date: Friday 15th May 2026
  • Venue: Peter Lyon Shearing cookshop, Hillview Rd, Alexandra
  • Cost: Members: Free. Non-Members: $25. Students: $20. Shearing gang groups of 5 or more: $20pp.
  • Pre-register: by Sunday 10th May 2026

Shearing gangs of 5 or more attendees are eligible for the Shearing Gang Group Rate. Please include the name and contact details of your gang in the comments field below.
*Rug Draw Terms & Conditions
  • I understand that only individuals who register by May 10, 2026, will be eligible to participate in the Bremworth rug draw.
  • I understand that I must be present at the time of the draw to claim the prize.
  • I confirm my participation in the Bremworth rug draw. Should I win the rug and decide not to keep it, I agree to return it for a redraw. If I choose to keep the rug on the day of the draw, I will not resell it at any time in the future.

Timetable overview

Topics to be covered include a session on ultra-fine merino classing; shearing contractors and pressers on what helps and hinders relationships with classers;  key broker messages for the 2026/27 season ahead; Rural Athlete® session for people within the rural and wool industries to improve how they move, work, and recover.

The day will also include the announcement of the next recipients of the WRONZ/NZWCA Certificate in Wool Technology and Classing student scholarships, acknowledgement the top 2025 completion wool students and if present, presentation of the overall top student with the NZWCA Perpetual Cup.

  • 4pm – 4.45pm Rural Athlete® a workshop with movement educator and rural wellbeing specialist Laura Hancock, designed for people in the food and fibre sector working in physically demanding roles. It will focus on practical, easy-to-apply techniques to help participants manage stiffness, improve movement, and support their bodies through the demands of daily work. Provision of a spiky massage ball for each participant to take home, and the workshop itself, is sponsored by Segard Masurel New Zealand.
