Wool, sheep and farming have been an integral part of my life since the beginning. I understand all farming practices, however wool has become my daily thing in the past six years as I’ve been working for a local (Kurow) wool merchant, and also classing.
Shearing time has always been a favourite and many school holidays were spent in the sheds learning the ropes, along with a few stints as a shedhand. Motherhood took over for a while, but wanting to further upskill in the industry I completely the Wool Cert through SIT.
My mother was a wool classer, so it had always been in the blood to become a wool classer, however I was not prepared for how addictive the industry would become.
Although I’m very green as a Board member I’m driven to ensure the people around me learn to love wool again, and believe as a classer it gives me good grounds to support the people around me to become more knowledgeable and educated about the industry.
I live on my family farm near Kurow with my husband and two children.
